This was replaced by a mosque and later during 1226 to 1493 another cathedral was built on the mosque and the present Toledo church came into existence. One of the main events attributed to this church is proclamation of Joanna and her husband, Phillips the handsome to Spain’s throne. Both the exterior and the interior of the cathedral is beautifully decorated with masterly works of sculpture, a huge fresco of St. Christopher greets the visitors to the church. The centre of the cathedral has a huge choir. This cathedral also attracts a large number of visitors every day.
